Oliva Cigars

The story of Oliva cigars starts with the legend, Melanio Oliva. In 1886, he first grew tobacco in one of the world’s finest regions, the Pinar Del Rio of Cuba. The growth of the brand was exponential, Melanio quickly grew very wealthy but when the Cuban War of Independence struck, he remembered his roots. Unlike other rich Cubans, he did not flee from the conflict. Tobacco growing operations were suspended whilst he fought for his country. After the war was won, Melanio returned to his farm to continue his dream. Unfortunately, after the Cuban revolution, the tobacco landscape changed dramatically and operations were diverted to Nicaragua. This is the story of Oliva cigars.
